Dr Harsh Vardhan
Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India
Dr. Harsh Vardhan, at present Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India, was a practicing ENT surgeon before entering public life in 1993. He was elected to the Delhi Assembly that year from Krishna Nagar constituency in east Delhi and went on to retain that seat in all five elections in 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013. In 2014, he contested the Lok Sabha election for the first time and was elected from Chandni Chowk, Delhi.
Fondly called “Doctor Saab” by supporters and opponents alike, Dr. Harsh Vardhan is known for disarming simplicity in his personal life and transparency at the work place. When he was Minister in the Delhi government (1993-98), the people found him remarkably accessible and officials respected him for his hands-on style of functioning. Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee once said of Dr. Harsh Vardhan: “He joined politics with the laudable objective of using his considerable medical knowledge and experience for serving the common man”.
As Health Minister in the Narendra Modi government for five months, he initiated many reforms in the public health system of the country. He took over as Minister for Science &Technology and Earth Sciences in November 2014 with the confidence of the Prime Minister who earlier held this portfolio. He is committed to set a roadmap for the implementation of the “Make in India” programme by building a robust R&D infrastructure and promoting synergies between industry and scientific research institutions.
Dr Alberto Masoni

Alberto Masoni is Research Director at INFN, the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics, director of INFN Cagliari Department and member of INFN Directors Council. Since 1985 he is also scientific associate at CERN (the European Laboratory for Particle Physics). His publications record exceeds 400 scientific papers, with more than 80.000 citations (H index 95). He directed several large computing infrastructures initiatives, among them he was member of the management board of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid Project, the largest grid computing infrastructure worldwide, developed for the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. He coordinated several EU Research Infrastructures Projects dedicated to S&T cooperation with India and was also the Project director of one of the Six Joint Research Projects of Particular Relevance selected within the frame of the Executive Programme of Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Italian and Indian Governments for the years 2012-2015.

Prof Ashutosh Sharma

Prof. Ashutosh Sharma is the Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India since January 09, 2015. He was a professor (1997-), an Institute Chair Professor (2007-) and the Head (2003-05) of Chemical Engineering, and the founding Coordinator of Nanosciences Center and Advanced Imaging Center at the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur. Ashutosh received his PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNYAB; 1988) working with Prof. Eli Ruckenstein—a recipient of the US Medal of Science, his MS from the Pennsylvania State University (1984) and B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur (1982).
Ashutosh has served on the Governing Boards/Councils of over 15 prominent scientific institutions in India and has had a broad international experience as a research faculty at SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine (1988-90), visiting faculty at University of Texas at Austin, University of Western Ontario, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the World Class University Program of South Korea and as a Member of the European Research Commission.
Ashutosh’s research contributions are highly interdisciplinary, spanning a wide range in nanotechnology; carbon based nanocomposites and MEMS/NEMS in energy, health and environment; functional interfaces; micro/nano-mechanics of soft matter; nano-patterning and nanofabrication; colloid and interfacial engineering; biomaterials & biosurfaces; wetting, adhesion and thin polymer films;-- areas in which he has published over 300 peer reviewed papers, filed over 10 patents, given over 100 invited or key note conference presentations and mentored a nanotechnology startup.
Ashutosh is a recipient of numerous honors and awards including the inaugural Infosys Prize in Engineering and Computer Science, TWAS Science Prize of the World Academy of Sciences, Bessel Research Award of the Humboldt Foundation, J. C. Bose Fellowship, Bhatnagar Prize, Homi J. Bhabha Award of UGC, The Syed Husain Zaheer Medal of INSA,Distinguished Alumnus Awards of IIT Kanpur and SUNY Buffalo and the Life-time Achievement Award of the Indian Science Congress.
Ashutosh is an elected Fellow of The Indian National Science Academy, The Indian Academy of Sciences, The National Academy of Sciences, India and Indian National Academy of Engineering, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the Asia-Pacific Academy of Materials. He has also served on the Councils of the first two. He is has been an associate editor of ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Proceedings of Indian National Science Academy and ASME Journal of Micro- and Nano-Manufacturing and has been on the editorial boards of several journals: Carbon; ACS Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Research; Current Science; Nanomaterials and Energy; Chemical Engineering Science; Journal of Colloid and Interface Science; Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering and Indian Chemical Engineer.

As an expert of new digital technologies and with his continuous pursuit of innovative solutions and services, Alberto Fioravanti founded Inferentia in 1988 with Enrico Gasperini. In the 90s the company became the first new media agency in Italy that specialised in providing services for online marketing. In 2000 Inferentia was listed on the New Market of the Italian Stock Exchange, initially beginning – at first under the name of Inferentia DNM then Fullsix – a European leader in the sector. He has held various positions within the company over the years, from CTO to Chief Executive Officer, finally assuming the role of CEO of e.Fluxa, an Inferentia Group company specialising in outsourcing services and solutions.
In 2004, he became a Founding Member – with Enrico Gasperini, Gabriele Ronchini and Gabriele Gresta – of Digital Magics and he has held the position of Executive Director. Digital Magics is a certified incubator of innovative digital startups whose content and services possess high technological value. The business incubator Digital Magics took part in the birthing process and launch of more than 50 initiatives, which contributed to the development of the entire online sector in Italy, creating the foundation for the generational renewal of the national parterre of entrepreneurs and overseeing all areas of expertise in the digital market. In July 2013, Digital Magics was listed on AIM Italy, Alternative Capital Market for small and medium-sized Italian companies with high growth potential, organised and managed by the Italian Stock Exchange.
In 2008 he was a founding member of the startup 4w MarketPlace, the main Italian AdNetwork operating in online advertising with the leading publishers and media agencies. In April 2015 it closed a capital increase of 25% in the shareholder structure, for a value of about 2.1 million Euro, by the Dada Group (through the transfer of the company ProAdv/Simply).

Mr. Sawhney is a Mechanical Engineer and an IAS Officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre (1984 batch). He has handled various assignments in the State of Andhra Pradesh, covering land administration, law and order and quasi-judicial functions, rural development, health & family welfare, communication & information technology, e-governance and elections etc.
He played a lead role in the Total Literacy Campaign taken up in Nizamabad district in the early nineties. Kerala cadre IAS officer (1984 batch) Mr Anand Kumar has been appointed as the Secretary, New and Renewable Energy. Mr. Kumar also served as Joint Secretary in Ministry of Tourism. He has also served as the Managing Director, National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited in 2014.
He is an M.Phil from University of Delhi and MBA from University of Queensland, Australia. During his career he has held many important positions in tourism, infrastructure, industry, biotechnology, finance, revenue, elections and governance sectors under the state and federal governments.
During initial stages of his career, he served as District Collector and Magistrate of Idukki and Calicut districts in Kerala. He was assigned challenging duty of managing the relief camps on Iraq-Amman border and repatriation of Indians during KuwaitIraq war of 1990. While in Kerala Tourism, he was part of the team which launched ‘God’s Own Country’ Campaign and planned introduction of houseboats in Kerala. He served as Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India and conducted landmark Bihar Legislative Assembly elections in 2005.

In 2011 he joined Clivet SpA, an Italian company leader in sustainable comfort for every application and climate, as export area manager with the aim to export the European way to comfort worldwide. In 2013 he accepted the challenge to widen Clivet market in India and Middle East and moved with his family (wife and three children) to Dubai. In 2015 he became General Manager of Clivet Mideast Fzco, the Dubai based branch of Clivet SpA.
Dr Anil Koul

Dr. Anil Koul, prior to taking the charge of Director, CSIR-IMTech, was Senior Director & Head, Respiratory Infections Discovery group at healthcare multinational Johnson & Johnson. He has more than 16 years of experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery research and clinical development. He obtained his PhD from Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Munich, Germany and Delhi University.
Dr. Koul has been a key scientist in discovery and clinical development of SIRTURO (generically called Bedaquiline) - the first drug to be granted approved by United State's FDA and EU in last 45 years. Bedaquiline has been approved till date in more than 25 countries across the world including conditional approval in India. He is a recipient of "Johnson Medal", the highest R&D prize by Johnson and Johnson, 'The Philip B. Hofmann Prize' and ‘Swiss-TB prize’ by Switzerland's Society of Pneumology. He was also invited to European Parliament to present to members of Europe-India Chamber of Commerce on Bedaquiline and issues of global public health.
Dr. Koul has several publications; international presentations and more than 30 patents to this credit. He and his research team have also discovered several new drugs (currently in clinical development) for diseases ranging from viral bronchiolitis, novel antibiotics and animal health. Prior to J&J, he worked in Germany in a biotech company on the development of kinase inhibitors for oncology.
Dr. Koul is a visiting professor at Free University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is a member of India's Technical Advisory committee on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), constituted by Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Government of India. He is also a member of CII’s Northern Region Committee on higher education.

Prof. Balram Bhargava

Prof. Balram Bhargava, Secretary, Department of Health Research, (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare), Government of India and Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) joined on 16th April, 2018. Prof. Bhargava is Professor of Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and also serves as the Executive Director for Stanford India Biodesign Centre, School of International Biodesign (SiB).
Prof. Bhargava has established the India-Stanford Biodesign programme that has led to the establishment of the School of International Biodesign (SIB) at AIIMS and development of 30 low cost medical devices leading to 10 startups. He developed the indigenous Platinum Iridium coil coronary stent and has been instrumental in clinically evaluating and establishing the use of two other laser cut medicated Indian stents. These low cost indigenous stents have benefitted several thousand patients.
He set up the c-GMP Centre for Excellence for Stem Cell Studies at AIIMS which has initiated treatment of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy; this has benefitted number of no-option heart failure patients waiting on the cardiac transplant list. He is currently developing the Chest Compression Device for Sudden Cardiac Death patients; funded by the Wellcome Trust, London and is providing leadership for creative disease prevention, early detection and transport system for sick cardiac patients. This programme mission DELHI (Delhi Emergency Life Heart-attack Initiative) is in the process of early diagnosis and treatment of heart attack patients by trained motorcycle first respondent paramedics.
He has started the Society for Less Investigative Medicine (SLIM). He has published several papers on the harmful cardiovascular effects of chewing tobacco and is evaluating the continuous blood pressure of DTC bus drivers in Delhi. He has led two major trials in India funded by the NIH, Bethesda, USA which has changed clinical practice. He has pioneered several techniques in interventional cardiology. Apart from numerous prestigious awards, Prof. Bhargava has been awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ and the UNESCO Equatorial Guinea International Prize for research in Life Sciences at Paris.

Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy is an Indian entrepreneur who has firmly placed India on the global map for leading-edge engineering, and research and development (ER&D) services by establishing Cyient (formerly, Infotech Enterprises) in 1991. His efforts have led Cyient to contribute more than $3 billion in cumulative exports from India to several Fortune 100 companies and have created direct employment for about 15,000 engineering professionals in 21 countries.
Dr. Reddy has served as the Chairman of CII, Southern Region. Dr. Reddy is the Founding Director of T-Hub, the largest start-up incubation center. He acts as the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Reddy has taken up several leadership positions to promote higher education in India and abroad. He serves as the Chairman, Board of Governors at IIT, Hyderabad; is a member of the Leadership Advisory Board (LAB) at the University of Michigan College of Engineering, USA; and is the co-chair of CII’s National Council on Education.

Calogero Maria Oddo (1983) has a Ph.D. in BioRobotics from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA), M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from University of Pisa (UNIPI). He is currently Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Bioengineering and he coordinates the Neuro-Robotic Touch Laboratory at The BioRobotics Institute of SSSA. He holds courses on Natural and Artificial Senses and Neuromorphic Engineering for BSc, MSc and PhD students at SSSA and UNIPI. He has over 70 conference and journal publications and a growing track record in integrating biorobotics and neuroscience, with particular interests in the study of the human sense of touch and on its artificial engineering, and in this field he authored high-impact publications. He has a H-index of 20 and a total of 1650+ citations. He has a growing portfolio of successful research grants and he was/is co-PI or WP leader within EU-H2020, EU-FP7 and National projects. He currently serves as member of the Advisory Board of the EFFECT EU-H2020-FET project and as Vice Chair of the Italy Chapter of the IEEE Sensors Council.
Dr Christian Greco

Christian Greco was born in 1975 at Arzignano (VI). He is an Egyptologist. He was a Lecturer in Egyptian funerary archaeology and archeology of Nubia and the Sudan at the University of Leiden, the main center of Egyptology in the Netherlands, and curator at the Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, which houses one of the most important Egyptian collections in Europe. He has curated many exhibitions and installations, not only in the Netherlands, but also in Japan, Finland and Spain. He has developed important international collaborations, both as a member of research groups and with other museums, including the Vatican Museum and the Louvre. He was a member of the American epigraphic mission in Luxor. For several years he has been co-director of the Dutch archaeological mission at Saqqara. He has authored many publications, both educational and scholarly, in various European languages (Italian, French, English, Dutch and Spanish). In addition to being a highly specialized scholar, Dr. Greco has high technical and scientific competence and management skills, which he developed at the Foundation of the Museum of Antiquities in Leiden as curator of the Egyptian collection (since 2009). Since June 17th, 2014 is a member of the Technical and Scientific Committee for Archaeological Heritage of MIBACT. Since February 2014 he is Director of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities Foundation in Turin.
Mr Chandrajit Banerjee

Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee is the Director General of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Mr Banerjee has been with the CII for about 3 decades and has been the Director General, CII since May 2008.
Mr. Banerjee is a Post-Graduate (MS) in Economics with specialisation on Economics of Planning and Econometrics from the University of Calcutta. Earlier, he did his Graduation from St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) in Economics (Hons).
As Director General, he is responsible for overall operations of CII.
Prior to his appointment as Director General, he held several senior positions in CII. Mr. Banerjee has been responsible for important areas of work including the Sectoral Verticals - Manufacturing, Services, Agriculture and Life Sciences Sectors and the SMEs. He has led key policy work of CII in the areas of Economic Policy, Financial Services and Corporate Governance (he was also the First Executive Director of the National Foundation of Corporate Governance -NFCG, an organization set up by the Ministry of Company Affairs, Government of India). He continues to be in the Board of Trustees and Governing Council of NFCG as a Member.
Earlier Mr. Banerjee has served as Head of CII’s regional operations in the Northern, Southern and Western Regions.
Over the years, Mr. Banerjee has worked out of the CII-Headquarters in New Delhi for several years and has also been based at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. He was also in Bangalore to initiate the Centre of Excellence of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA), which is a state-of-the-art centre for training, conventions and trade fairs.

Mr. Immanuel is the first Chief Executive Officer of Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC). AASSC is the apex skilling body in the emerging Aerospace and Aviation sector. It has been formed under the Government and industry led initiative of skilling Indian labour force through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
He has led the efforts to develop the National Occupational Standards for various Job Roles in Aerospace & Aviation Sector. He was instrumental in launching a Centre of Excellence for Aerospace Design in Bangalore through a German Multi National Company with an investment outlay of 5 million USD. He established the Centre for Advanced Materials at IACS where a large number of faculty members interact on various aspects of research on advanced materials.

Mr. Gianfranco Berrutti is the Vice President of UNIDI (The Italian dental Industry Association) as well as the General Manager of Major Prodotti Dentari S.p.A., one of the leading Italian manufacturer of dental materials.
Born In Torino, Italy, on October 23rd, 1968, Mr. Berrutti graduated in business administration in Milan at the “Luigi Bocconi” university on 1992. Soon after his graduation he moved to the USA where he worked as marketing assistant at the American Tooth Industries, a company specialized in manufacturing artificial teeth and located in Oxnard, California.
On 1995 he returned to Italy where he spent a couple of years at the Torino’s branch of the Andersen Consulting company. On 1997 he joined Major Prodotti Dentari, his family company, in Moncalieri, where he is currently working as general manager.
Since 2002 Mr. Berrutti was elected as member of the board of UNIDI and started to take care of the foreign department of the Association.
On 2012 he was elected President of UNIDI for two years and reconfirmed on 2014 for a second mandate until June 2016.
During this period he planned an important project in Africa, where UNIDI started to organize on 2015 an International exhibition, to develop and support the presence of the Italian dental companies on the African markets. For this purpose he managed the IDEA (International Dental Exhibition Africa) company that was established in Senegal, Dakar, until the end of 2016.
Since 2016 Mr. Berrutti is Vice President of UNIDI and he has been very active in supporting the development of the foreign activities of the Association, targeting new markets and opportunities to help the Italian dental Industry expand its business worldwide.

Dr. Padmanabham started his professional career in 1987 as a Design & Development Engineer at Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hyderabad. Kanwal Sibal, with 41 years of experience in diplomacy, is a former Foreign Secretary to the Government of India. He has been Ambassador to Turkey, Egypt, France and Russia, He was a member of India’s National Security Advisory Board from 2008 to 2010. He is on the Board of the New York based East-West Institute and member of the Executive Council of the Vivekanand International Foundation. He is an adviser to the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum. He is also Chairman of the Forum of Strategic and Security Studies. He is an Editorial Consultant to The Indian Defence Review and is Foreign Affairs Editor of Force.
He was President of the Association of Indian Diplomats in 2011. He has written more than 500 Op-Eds and other articles for major national journals and periodicals on international affairs. Ms. Kiran Nadar has established a global platform that showcases and promotes Indian art – The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA), New Delhi.
Ms. Nadar’s continuously expanding, diverse art collection today comprises over 5000 artworks representative of all major phases of modern and contemporary Indian art, that are showcased in two KNMA spaces venues.
Established in 2010, KNMA is India’s first private art museum that aims to exemplify the dynamic relationship between arts and culture, platforming India’s most talented artists and bridging the gap between art and the public at large through exhibitions, publications, educational and public programs. KNMA is a not-for-profit organization that does not charge any fee for entry or for activities conducted by the Museum.
As the Chairperson and Founder of KNMA, Ms. Nadar has forged stellar collaborations with globally renowned museums including the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Tate Modern (London), Musée Des Arts Asiatiques, (Nice) and Musée Guimet (Paris) in a short span of seven years. KNMA has also worked with many state level museums.
Ms. Nadar is also one of the top Indian players of competitive Bridge and led her team to victory in Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championships 2018, bringing gold to India after 12 years. Mrs. Nadar also won Bronze in 2018 Asian Games in Mixed team event in Bridge.
She has been voted one of the 100 most influential people in the contemporary art world on the most established ranking in contemporary art, compiled by the UK based ArtReview. She was the Co-chairperson of CII Art Advisory.
Kiran lives in Delhi, India with her husband Shiv Nadar, Founder, HCL and Chairman, Shiv Nadar Foundation.

As Vice President for Digital Government, Dr. Lovneesh Chanana is responsible for driving the public policy and thought leadership engagements for SAP with Government and other stakeholders. His domain of responsibilities covers engagements related to policies such as cloud, IoT, cyber security etc. and key programs including digital India, make in India, Industry 4.0, smart cities, start-up India and skill India. He is also responsible for strategic public sector business support.
Dr. Lovneesh brings more than twenty-four years of wide-ranging IT and consulting experience to the role, with a track record of strategic engagements on IT in Indian Government. He has handled multiple consulting and IT implementation projects. He has also been contributing to capacity building of Government officials in India and has designed and developed training programs on various areas related to Information and communication technologies in Government.
He works closely with academia in facilitating a strong industry-academia connect. He has been a visiting faculty to Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee for their MBA students for the last 12 years. He has also taught at Indian Institute of Management Indore.
Before joining SAP, Dr. Lovneesh has held leadership positions with IBM, KPMG, EY and National Productivity Council of India.
He holds a Ph.D. with research focus on mobile governance. He holds a bachelor and post graduate qualification in Industrial Engineering.

Luca Beverina was born in 1975 in Milano, Italy. He graduated in Materials Science at the University of Milano-Bicocca in 1999. He received his PhD in Materials Science from the same University in 2002. He later moved to the Georgia Institute of Technology for a one year Post Doc period. Later he came back to the University of Milano-Bicocca where in 2004 he got a permanent faculty position as assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry at the same university. In 2014 he became Associate Professor in the same University. Prof. Beverina present research interests cover organic photovoltaics, electrochromism, rechargeable organic batteries, micellar synthesis with occasional excursions in photo- and thermoresists. He is the coordinator of the work group on industrial PhD of the CRUI association.

Luciano Martini is with RSE a National Research Centre located in Milano (Italy), where he is the Director of the “Transmission and Distribution Technologies” Department whose activities include, among others, HV lab testing, power electronics, plug-in electric vehicles, applied superconductivity, and pilot applications of smart grids. He has more than 25 years’ experience on Research & Development activities dealing with innovative materials, renewable energies, superconductivity, and smart grids. He is the Coordinator of the EERA Joint Programme on Smart Grids, which includes 42 research organizations representing 17 European countries. Martini is Vice-Chairman of the IEA TCP ISGAN (International Smart Grid Action Network) and in the framework of Mission Innovation, he is the Italian co-leader of the Innovation Challenge on Smart Grids (IC#1) together with representatives from India and China.

Luigi Crema is Head of ARES - Applied Research on Energy Systems, research unit of FBK, CT Leader in Hydrogen Europe Research (FCH JU), Vice Chair Energy Pillar, Hydrogen Production, distribution, storage and vice President H2IT, Italian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association. Crema is coordinating the scientific activity on the Energy topic in FBK, where he is Head of a multidisciplinary team involved in research and innovation actions in the field of energy systems. He is the coordinator of several EU projects, including the FP7 DiGeSPo (Concentrated Solar Power), FP7 EDEN (Hydrogen Storage) and H2020 CH2P (Hydrogen production). He is a member of EERA Joint Programme Concentrated Solar Power, of Hydrogen Europe Research, member of Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, At the National level, he is Vice President of H2IT and member of the National Extended Board on Energy research for H2020 set up by MIUR and MISE. He is involved in several projects and initiatives related to energy topics such as INSHIP (H2020-ECRIA project on solar thermal for industrial process heat), on Stirling dish technology, on hydrogen storage and high temperature fuel cells, on organic flow batteries. In this last topic, he is supporting an innovative start up incubated in FBK, Green Energy Storage, and involved in the Italian group for the SET PLAN, as well as involved in the European Battery Initiative. Through ITPAR programme he is collaborating with IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee on energy for rural communities.

Dr. Luigi Raschella’ is the Vice President – Chief Representative India and Business Development Asia at ElettronicaS.p.A. since January 2017. Elettronica (ELT), founded in 1951, is a European leader in the production of Electronic Defence equipment.
His key responsibility is coordination and supervision of Elettronica activities in India. In this role, his responsibilities isto promote Elettronica & CY4GATE Systems and capability in the various domain and increase the footprint of Elettronica in India by establishing relationship with the armed forces, government authorities, research and development departments and public and private industries. He is working towards creating new opportunities in India and Asian countries andalso supporting the technical and sales departments in the finalization of the proposals and negotiations.

Prof. Marco Foiani is the Scientific Director and Head of the Genome Integrity Laboratory of IFOM - The FIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology Foundation and co-founder of the IFOM-IEO Campus. His research interest focuses on the regulatory mechanisms that control genome integrity.
He was the founder and Vice-President of the European Nanomedicine Foundation (CEN). He is member of the Scientific Advisory Board of AIRC and Full Professor in Molecular Biology at the University of Milan and Professor at the European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM). Prof Marica Branchesi

Marica Branchesi is assistant professor at the Gran Sasso Science Institute, and researcher at the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Italy. She is president of the commission of Gravitational Wave Astrophysics of the International Astronomical Union and member of the Gravitational Wave International Committee. She is a member of the Virgo Collaboration, where she served as co-liaison to coordinate the LIGO and Virgo collaborations’ electromagnetic follow up program to send gravitational-wave alerts in low latency from 2014 to 2018. She was as Virgo astrophysicist in the panel who announced to the world the first gravitational-wave signal from the coalescence of two neutron stars (at the NSF international press-release). She was named Scientist in Nature’s 10, the journal’s annual list of ten people who mattered in science in 2017. She was named in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people of 2018. Her scientific interest lies in the (astro)physics governing emission, formation and evolution of black holes and neutron stars. Her research activity is aimed at developing the multi-messenger astronomy, which uses electromagnetic and gravitational-wave observations to probe the physics most energetic transient phenomena in the Universe.

Archeological Park of Pompei University of Naples “Federico II”
Massimo Osanna is the General Director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii since 2014 and full Professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Naples “Federico II” since 2016. In Pompeii he encouraged conservation works on an urban scale as well as archaeological excavations employing modern technologies and methodologies. From 2009 to 2014 he was the Director of the School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage of Matera and from 2007 to 2008 Superintendent for Archeological Heritage of Basilicata. He was the Director of many archaeological projects in Italy and abroad. His research interests focus on Greek archaeology, archaeology of cult and reconstruction of urbanization in Southern Italy and Pompeii in the pre-Roman and Roman period. He wrote more than 100 papers and he is moreover the Director of the Collana di Studi e Ricerche del Parco Archeologico di Pompei.

Mauro Giacca, MD PhD, is the Director-General of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), an international organization in the United Nations system for advanced research and education, with laboratories in Trieste, Italy, New Delhi, India and Cape Town, South Africa (www.icgeb.org). He is Full Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Trieste. His research interest focuses on the development of novel biotherapeutics for cardiovascular disorders, with particular reference to growth factors and microRNAs that induce cardiac regeneration after myocardial infarction. He also maintains a strong interest in the molecular biology of HIV-1 infection. He is the President Elect of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR), European Section and serves on the Boards of numerous scientific organizations internationally. He has published over 320 papers in peer-reviewed, international journals. He is also active in promoting scientific outreach for the general public. At its laboratories in Cape Town, the ICGEB runs research programmes at the forefront of international scientific excellence on topics of particular relevance to sub-Saharan Africa, in infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB), non-communicable diseases (cancer) and the regulation of GM products.
Dr Michele Lanzinger
MUSE Science Museum - Trento
MICHELE LANZINGER is Chief Executive Officer at the MUSE-Science Museum in Trento (Italy). Graduated in Geology and PhD in Anthropology, from 1988 to 1992 he was curator of the Geology and Human Palaeontology Department at the Museo Tridentino di Scienze Naturali (the previous natural history museum in Trento downtown).
Mr. Lanzinger promoted MUSE, the project for a new-concept museum devoted to science, nature and society. For this new museum Mr. Lanzinger planned the overall organization and supervised both the Feasibility Study and the Cultural Plan. He has been the project leader, responsible for the design made by the “Mixed Group” – a collaborative team made up of museum staff, architects of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop designers and museologists of the Natural History Museum in London. The new museum opened in 2013 in an area of urban redevelopment.
President of the ANMS (Italian Association of Scientific Museums) for two mandates and member of the board of Ecsite (European network of science centres and museums) from 2011 to 2016, he is currently member of the Italian national executive board of ICOM (International Council of Museums). He teaches Science communication at the University of Trento, Padua and Bergamo. He is and has been advisor and consultant for the development of the strategic & content plans for many Italian science museums (Bassano, Verona, Bologna, Parma, Turin) and many Parks and Nature interpretation centers.

Dr. Michele Geraci

Michele Geraci is Deputy Minister at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.He is a former Investment Banker and Electronic Engineer and an expert on Chinese economy. He was Assistant professor of Finance at Nottingham University Business School, China. He was also the Head of China at the Global Policy Institute and Adjunct Professor of Finance at New York University, Shanghai and at Zhejiang University. He lived in China from 2008 to 2018. His research work is aimed at governments, corporations and investors, offering non-academic, practical-oriented policy recommendations and investment advice. Topics of interest include monetary policy, income disparity, migration, urbanisation and European crisis, international trade, M&A.
Dr. Geraci was a regular contributor to China Daily op-ed and a columnist for Caixin Magazine and IlSole24Ore/Radiocor. Michele has been voted for four years in a row one of the top 50 Italian experts on Chinese matters by MilanoFinanza; one of the top 5 University of Nottingham media experts and has recently been awarded the title of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy (Cavaliere dell’Ordine Della Stella D’Italia) by President of Italian Republic, Mattarella. He also teaches courses on China’s economy in Europe at LUISS (Rome) and Copenhagen Business School. He is the producer and host of a documentary on China’s economy and had a popular blog with the goal to enhance the knowledge of China amongst European and Italian policymakers, enterprises and the general public.
Prior to China, Dr. Geraci was an investment banker based in London. Over more than a decade between London and Wall Street, he worked in Europe, Latin America, Eastern Europe in investment banks such as Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, DLJ, Schroders as co-head of European Telecom Research and Head of Latin America Telecom Research.
Before starting his career in finance, he worked as an electronic engineer in the Satellite planning manager division of British Telecom, London. He took part in the design of Eutelsat satellites that are used today to broadcast TV to Europe. Dr. Geraci holds an MBA from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management, under the guidance and friendship of Prof Modigliani and Rudy Dornbusch and an undergraduate degree in electronic engineering from the University of Palermo, Italy, with one year spent at UCL as exchange student. He speaks Italian, English, Chinese as well as Spanish and some French.

Ms Nerupama Y. Modwel

Ms. Nerupama Y. Modwel heads the Intangible Cultural Heritage Division at the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH). She has overseen the successful completion of a number of research, documentation and workshop projects on performing traditions in dance and drama, folklore, oral narratives and histories, and indigenous arts and crafts. She is coordinating an ongoing programme on studies of tribal communities across the country, cultural mapping of de-notified and nomadic communities of India and documentation of living culture of HRIDAY cities like Varanasi and Gaya. She has worked on, or contributed to, a number of publications including 'Documenting India's Intangible Cultural Heritage', 'The Soopa Shastra of Mangarasa III', 'Heritage, Conservation and Communities', and conceptualized, designed and edited numerous seminal works in the field of intangible heritage.
She has organized a number of international and national seminars on heritage issues such as ‘Oral Traditions: Continuity and Transformations, Northeast India and Southeast Asia’ (2016), ‘Oral Culture: People, Poetics and Performance’ (2017), and ‘Himalayan Heritage: Community-led Economic Regeneration’ (2017). She has also produced diverse INTACH films on intangible heritage, such as ‘Gaya: Strings of Faith’, ‘Life in a Fistful of Rice’, ‘Jayatu Simhasta: The Ujjain Kumbh’, ‘Communities of Arunachal Pradesh’, and ‘Chikankari: Thread of Life’. Previously, Ms. Modwel taught at Delhi University and Rajasthan University. She read English Literature at St Stephen’s College and Delhi University.

In 1988, he joined Ernst & Young as Supply Chain and Consumer Packaged Goods Practice Leading Partner, accountable for global sales and international account management team for client engagements.
In 1999, he moved to Fila Holding, where he works as Executive Senior V.P. Global Operations, accountable for international sourcing and manufacturing (mainly Far East), transportation and logistics, custom clearance, warehousing and distribution through international subsidiaries and distributors. He led several renovation processes in the international subsidiaries processes.
At the end of 2002 he joined Telecom Italia as Operational Planning & Client Management Director (2002), O.S.S. e V.A.S. Applications & Solutions Director (2004), Executive V.P. IT Management for Domestic Wireline (2005).
With Telecom-TIM merger in 2006 Borgogelli becomes Director for Service Creation and deals with the commercial launch of new converged services and special projects.
After serving as Executive V.P. – first for Service Creation Management, and then for Service & Process Creation, B.U. Domestic Market Consumer - he becomes Executive Senior V.P. for Application Development and Management in Telecom Italia Information Technology (TI.IT.).
He left Telecom Italia SpA in 2013 to join Expo 2015as Director of Supply Chain and Technology and Vice General Manager.Back in Telecom Italia at the end of Milan Expo, he becomes Technical Advisor to the Chief Information Officer for business transformation projects.

Prof Prakash Chandra Ghosh

Prof. Prakash C Ghosh is a Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai. Dr. Ghosh received his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany. He is the recipient of BOYSCAST fellowship from DST, Govt. of India and ERASMUS MUNDUS fellowship from European Union.
Prof. Ghosh has worked as a guest scientist in Forschungszentrum Juelich, Germany from 2002 to 2004. He worked in National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India as a scientist from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Ghosh’s research interests include low temperature fuel cells which include designing, modelling, fabrication and characterization of PEFC and HT-PEFC stacks. In addition to these he is also involved in solar hydrogen research and energy storage. Prof. Ghosh has more than 50 International Journal papers in the field of solar energy, fuel cells and hydrogen energy. He has also five awarded international patent and four filed patents in his name. He has participated in several national as well as international projects with several countries in the capacity of Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator. Prof. Ghosh has secured funding (>35 crore) as PI and Co-PI from DST for three projects and is also leading two Indo-UK projects (IMASE and IUCERCE) in the field of micro-grid and energy storage in the capacity of PI, funded by Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Mr. P S Ramesh has served in various positions of seniority at Dynamatic Technologies Limited since 1999. His career spans over two decades, including a 12 year stint with the Quality Assurance Group of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) where he was responsible for the manufacturing & procurement activities of the Jaguar and the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), and a 5-year stint as the signatory of Certificate of Conformances for the Malaysian Aircraft Industry, where his customers included British Aerospace, Boeing, MAS and the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
A graduate in mechanical engineering, Mr. Ramesh holds a Masters degree in Aircraft Production Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Mr. Ramesh joined the Company in the year 1999 as Head of Quality and spearheaded the campaign for documenting procedures/ control plans and implementing ISO 9001 certification. He has been working with Dynamatic Technologies for over 18 years and has progressively moved ranks to become the Chief Operating Officer of Dynamatic HydraulicsTM, India. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Dynamatic-Oldland AerospaceTM, India.

Prof. Pankaj Jalote is Distinguished Professor (CSE) – IIIT-Delhi. Earlier he was the Director, IIIT-Delhi. He has also been an Assistant Professor at University of Maryland College Park, Chair Professor at IIT Delhi, and Head of Computer Science Department at IIT Kanpur. He has also been Vice President at Infosys for 2 years, Visiting Researcher at Microsoft in Redmond for one year, and Interim Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University (DTU) for six months.
Prof. Pankaj Jalote is Distinguished Professor (CSE) – IIIT-Delhi. Earlier he was the Director, IIIT-Delhi. He studied architecture at the TVB School of Habitat Studies, Delhi where he graduated with the Gold Medal. Ratish then did a master’s programme in Conservation Studies focussed on the built heritage at the Institute of Advanced Architectural Studies, University of York, England.
He heads the multi-disciplinary AKTC teams presently undertaking the two major urban conservation projects in India: the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative, Delhi and the Qutb Shahi Heritage Park Conservation in Hyderabad. For AKTC, he was earlier responsible for the Baghe Babur restoration (2002-2006), in Kabul, Afghanistan and the garden restoration of Humayun’s Tomb (1999-2003).
He has earlier worked for Historic Scotland in Edinburgh (1998-99) and also been responsible for several successful projects for INTACH Delhi Chapter (1995- 2000) such as the conservation of St James Church, ruins adjacent Sultan Garhi, monuments in the Mehrauli Archaeological Park.
Ratish has served as an ICOMOS expert to missions in Iran, Turkey and Nepal and lectured in over 20 countries including at ICCROM, Rome. He has authored over 50 articles and his major publications include, ‘Delhi, the Built Heritage: A listing’- released by the Prime Minister of India; Delhi: Red Fort to Raisina; Conservation of Historic Graveyards (Scotland) and Rethinking Conservation: Humayun’s Tomb.

In 1992, he was appointed Italian Consul in Brisbane (Australia) and in 1995 he was appointed Consul General in Bombay (Mumbai).
From 1998 to 2000, he served as Chief of Staff of the Directorate General for Italians Abroad and Foreigners in Italy.
From 2000 to 2005, he served as Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade.
He then returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the position of Balkan Director.
He 2009, he was appointed Ambassador in Sarajevo and from 2013 to 2018 he served as Ambassador in Tunis.
In July 2018, he was appointed Diplomatic Adviser to the Italian Minister of Education, Universities and Research.

Mr. Rakesh Sasibhushan, is a distinguished space scientist and is the Chairman & Managing Director of ANTRIX Corporation, which is the commercial arm of ISRO. Prior to this assignment, he was the Director of ISRO’s Propulsion Complex, at Mahendragiri, Tamilnadu from 2015 to 2016 and Deputy Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre heading the Composites Entity at the Vattiyoorkavu Campus of VSSC from 2011 to 2015. ISRO’s CE20 cryogenic engine testing activities were completed at Mahendragiri under his leadership. He was also instrumental in setting up critical facilities for semi-cryo engine assembly & testing as well as optimizing the productivity of PSLV & GSLV engine & stage assembly activities at Mahendragiri.
He joined ISRO during 1984 in the area of Launch Vehicle manufacturing. He has set-up a Centre of Excellence in manufacturing and is credited with the creation of an Advanced Manufacturing Lab. He completed his MTech in Manufacturing Management while in service. He has three joint patents in the area of Advanced Manufacturing - in laser welding, metallic thermal protection systems and silica tile processing.
He is a recipient of ISRO team award 2011 and merit award 2012.
He is an avid naturalist and a life member of Bombay Natural History Society.

Dr. S. Guruprasad obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University and Masters Degree in Machine Design from Bangalore University. He did his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His research areas include Blast & Impact Resistant Structures, Structural & Shock Dynamics.
Dr. Guruprasad joined R&DE(E), a DRDO Laboratory in 1986. He was a key member of the design team of Project Sarvatra, a multi-span Mechanical Military Bridging System. He also worked on Under Water Systems especially in the area of shock dynamics. As Project Director for the BrahMos Launchers and Ground Systems, he was instrumental in development of weapon complex elements for BrahMos. His efforts have resulted in design & development of Inclined Deck Mounted Launchers and Vertical Launchers for naval warships. These products and host of other support systems developed under his leadership have already been inducted in army and navy.
Dr. Guruprasad is an expert in Computational Structural Mechanics and Composite Structures. He has many technical publications to his credit in various National & International Journals and conferences. He has 30 patents to his credit, some of them international (USA, Russia etc.).
He was leading Research & Development Establishment (Engineers), a premier Systems Laboratory under DRDO, for past 5 years leading several important Development Projects in the Areas of Combat Engineering, Weapon Launch Systems, Advanced Composite Products, NBC Protection Systems and Robotic Systems.
He is currently taking care of Productionisation of DRDO developed Systems, Transfer of Technology, International Cooperation and interaction with Services in the capacity of Director General (PC&SI) at DRDO HQ.

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Varshney is a Scientific Officer with Government of India, working with Ministry / Department of Science & Technology, Government of India since 1990. Presently he is working as Adviser & Head, International Bilateral Division of the Department and is responsible for facilitating bilateral scientific cooperation of India with partner countries.
He has worked as Counsellor (S&T) with Embassy of India in Moscow to facilitate bilateral scientific cooperation between India and Russia during April 2008 - June 2011. He has been contributing to promotion of international scientific cooperation as well as scientific – industrial cooperation. Mr. Varshney is actively involved in financial planning of the group.
Mr. Varshney completed M. Sc. (Geology) in 1984 from Aligarh Muslim University and was awarded University Medal for obtaining first position. He also pursued research at University of Delhi during 1985-1990 on Himalayan river systems, sedimentation, diagenetic and tectonic modifications. He was awarded Dr DN Wadia Research Fellowship in 1986 for his research on Himalayan Geology.
He is Life Fellow of Geological Society of India, Bangalore; Nepal Geological Society, Kathmandu and member of International Association of Sedimentologists, Oxford. He also has numerous certifications to his credit. Mr. Varshney also taught at Kurukshetra University in 1990.

His broad research interests are in the area of energy materials and its application in hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology, water splitting, CO2 reduction and conversion to C2-C4 organics. He has published 182 articles in high impact factor journals (152) with H-index of 31, conferences (30) and 5 patents, one book and eight book chapters. He is working on sponsored research projects (worth $7 million) of DST, GAIL, DRDO, ONGC. The direct alcohol fuel cell technology developed by him holds promise as a power source for portable electronic equipment. He is a Fellow of National Academy of Science of Indian and Indian Chemical Society. He has received various awards for his research and publications.

Dr Shekhar C. Mande is the Director of the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune; Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), India. CSIR is one of the world’s largest publicly-funded research and development organisations and is known for its contributions in diverse areas of science.Dr Mande is a leading structural and computational biologist and has more than 100publications to his credit.
After completing his M.Sc. in Physics from Nagpur University in 1984, Dr Mande obtained his PhD in Molecular Biophysics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in 1991. He started his postdoctoral research at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, in the Netherlands in 1991 and joined as a senior fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA in 1992.
After returning to India, he joined the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, as a scientist and continued till 2001 when he was selected as a Staff Scientist at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad. In 2011, Dr Mande was appointed as the Director of NCCS, Pune, an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. He also served in various advisory committees for the Government of India.
Dr Mande has several honours and awards to his credit. He is the fellow of all the three major science academies of India—the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), the National Academy of Sciences India (NASI), and the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS).

Ms. Tarana Sawhney is a founding member of the NGO Khushii and on the Advisory Board of the Foundation of Indian Contemporary Art (FICA), which promotes emerging artists and associated art professionals. She has led the fundraising processes for the charities that she is associated with and supports the Public Art Project at India Art Fair annually. Ms. Sawhney is also a Member of the South Asian Acquisitions Committee of the Tate Modern Museum, London, and has been instrumental in recent collection of art from the region, which has formed a part of the Museum's permanent collection. Also, after having established the Telecom Business of Compton Greaves, he took over as the Managing Director of Spice Telecom and subsequently as Group President of Spice Global Businesses. His significant contributions to the telecom industry include establishing cellular mobile telephony business in the country and initiating the first mobile call in August 1995. Mr. Das is the Vice-Chairman of TAIPA (Tower & Infrastructure Provider Association) and also chairs the Infrastructure Sub-Committee of Telecom & Broadband in Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Prof V. Ramgopal Rao

Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao is currently the Director, IIT Delhi. Before joining IIT Delhi as the Director in April 2016, Prof. Rao served as a P. K. Kelkar Chair Professor for Nanotechnology in the Department of Electrical Engineering and as the Chief Investigator for the Centre of Excellence in Nanoelectronics project at IIT Bombay.
Prof. Rao has over 450 research publications in the area of nano-scale devices & Nanoelectronics and is an inventor on 40 patents and patent applications, which include 15 issued US patents. Eleven of his patents have been licensed to industries for commercialization. He is a co-founder of two deep technology start-ups at IIT Bombay (Nanosniff & Soilsens) which are developing products of relevance to the society.
Prof. Rao was an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices during 2003-2012 for the CMOS Devices and Technology area and currently serves on the Editorial boards of other journals. He is a Distinguished Lecturer, IEEE Electron Devices Society and interacts closely with many semiconductor industries both in India and abroad. He served as the Chairman, IEEE AP/ED Bombay Chapter and as a Vice-Chairman, IEEE Asia Pacific Regions/Chapters sub-committee for two terms. He was the first elected Chairman for the India section, American Nano Society during 2013-2015.
Prof. Rao is a Fellow of various reputed scientific and engineering professional bodies. Both academia and industry alike, has recognized Prof Rao's work with many awards and honors in the country and abroad. Prof. Rao is also a recipient of the Swarnajayanti and the J.C. Bose Fellowships.

As the CEO of Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, Mr. Chadda has led the development of the organization and its education programs at primary, elementary and senior secondary standards. Prof Vijay Chandru

Prof. Vijay Chandru (PhD, MIT ‘82) is an academic turned entrepreneur. His academic career in data science spanned over two decades as a professor first at Purdue University and then Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
At IISc, Prof Chandru and along with his three colleagues pioneered the establishment of India’s first 3-D printing laboratory which was spun off as a company (APDAP) for rapid prototyping in 1994. He was also the co-convenor of the Perceptual Computing Lab (PerCoLat) that had an R&D focus in data visualization, computer graphics and virtual reality applications on campus. PerCoLat spun off the Simputer and Strand Genomics. Prof Chandru is a fellow of the National Academies of Science and Engineering in India and a Technology Pioneer of the World Economic Forum. He was awarded the Dewang Mehta prize for IT innovation from MCIT in 2001 for inventing the Simputer and the Hari Om Trust Award from UGC (2003) for his contributions to Science and Society. Prof Chandru is a founder and former Honorary President of ABLE (the apex body for the biotechnology industry in India) from 2009-2012. He serves on the vision groups for Biotechnology and Science & Technology and also on the board of the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology.

Prof Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath

Dr. Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath, Ph.D. is a Professor and Director of the Centre for Neuroscience at Indian Institute of Science. Dr. Ravindranath joined the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, (NIMHANS) Bangalore in 1986. She served as Director at NBRC from 1999 to April 2009. She established the National Brain Research Centre (NBRC). In a short span of 3 years, she established a state-of-art institute in a remote location and initiated a unified approach to understanding the human brain, integrating mathematical and computational science. She networked 45 institutions around the country with NBRC with a goal to share resources and promote neuroscience research. She is an elected Fellow of all the 3 science academies in the country, namely Indian National Science Academy, Indian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences, India. She is also a Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, India, Indian Academy of Neurosciences and Third World Academy of Sciences. She is a recipient of the many prestigious awardsa and fellowships including Padma Shri (2010). In 1986, she completed her Post-Doctoral training at the NCI, NIH, USA. Dr. Ravindranath obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Mysore in 1981.
Prof Vikram Kumar
Professor, IIT Delhi
Prof. Vikram Kumar is presently Dr Raja Ramanna DRDO Distinguished Fellow at the Solid State Physics Laboratory, Delhi. He is also an Honorary Professor at the Centre for Applied Research in Electronics (CARE), IIT Delhi.
His research interests include the understanding of electronic defects and interface states in silicon, III-V and II-VI semiconductors, photovoltaic devices and nanotechnology. His work on electronic defects in semiconductors was recognied with the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in 1992. As the Director of the Solid State Physics Laboratory, he has contributed towards the development of technology of materials and devices some of which have reached production stage. He led his team for setting up GaAs Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC) foundry for pilot production of monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMIC) that is supplying devices to various users including defence and space. His team has also developed the technology for growth of single crystals of CdZnTe and GaAs and supplied device quality wafers. He also contributed to the development HgCdTe based PV and PC infra-red detectors.
At NPL he initiated programmes on silicon and organic solar cells. At IIT Delhi, he has coordinated the setting up of the Nano-scale Research Facility. He has contributed as chair or member of several committees of DST, MNRE, DEITY, DRDO, MHRD and other scientific agencies. His appointments include Faculty, IISc, Bangalore (1977-1992); Director, SSPL (DRDO) (1992-2003); Director, NPL (CSIR) (2003-2009) and Faculty, IIT Delhi (2009-2017).
Mr Vincenzo De Luca

Mr.Vincenzo De Luca took office on 1 February 2016 as Director-General for the Promotion of the Italian Economic System after having served in the same Directorate General as Deputy Director-General and Central Director for the Internationalisation of the Italian Economic System and of the autonomous local authorities (since January 2014).
He has been a career diplomat since 1989 and has been given several assignments at the Foreign Ministry and at the diplomatic representations in Khartoum, Tunis, Paris (at the permanent Representation at the OECD) and in Shanghai. He has a long-standing expertise in the internationalisation of the economic system of the public and private sector, both in Central Offices, in the capacity of Diplomatic Advisor of the Ministries of Industry, Transports and Economic Development, and in large corporations like ENI and ENEL, where he served as Vice President for Institutional International Relations. During the past few years, he played a relevant role in the organisation of the EXPO Milano 2015 as President of the Foreign Ministry’s Task Force, capitalising on his experience as Consul General in Shanghai.
